The social enterprise SIA “4 vēji” is a work integration company that has been operating in Kalnciems since the end of 2020, employing people from social risk groups.

About the factory

The corrugated cardboard factory produces various products made from corrugated cardboard. Approximately 1000 square meters of corrugated cardboard are processed daily. Therefore, we shred both paper and corrugated cardboard.
This material is used to fill empty spaces in shipping boxes, so the end consumer receives the goods undamaged.

Project “Augšup”

In July 2005, a grant of 8000 EUR was received from the Social Entrepreneurship Grant Program “Augšup” for the business idea competition. The grant was used to purchase two new pieces of equipment – a corrugated cardboard shredder and a tensioning machine – so that the company could expand the range of services provided, increase production capacity and provide more work for people with mental disabilities.

All funds raised are directed towards the development of employment initiatives for people with disabilities who face challenges working full-time.
